Last Livejournal Post
Well, I have found myself posting less and less on LJ as no one reads it, so its time to move to my company blog. From now on I will post only at TLAF blog. Some day I might start a personal blog again, but only when I have something more interesting to say. :) | | Friday, May 7th, 2004 | | 9:22 pm |
DupeTunes!
Well, I'm back running with the programming again. First up, DupeTunes: You can grab a sneak preview here: http://www.thelittleappfactory.com/dupetunes.pngNothing special about it... may not charge for it either, but there is some cool pattern recognition code in there which I love. | | Sunday, May 2nd, 2004 | | 8:59 pm |
"You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat." "Common sense is the collection of prejudices acquired by age eighteen." "If A equals success, then the formula is _ A = _ X + _ Y + _ Z. _ X is work. _ Y is play. _ Z is keep your mouth shut." "The hardest thing in the world to understand is the income tax." "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." "What really interests me is whether God had any choice in the creation of the world." "If one studies too zealously, one easily loses his pants." -- Albert Einstein | | Tuesday, April 13th, 2004 | | 9:41 pm |
Looks like I will be backpacking across Europe this time next year. :) In one of my more spontaneous moments I kinda decided to do it and everything is nicely falling into place. My only concern is the internet and really that's not a concern except in the Ukraine and Russia, but I will have to check that out. I might be doing two US destinations, LA/SF and NY. Depends if the immigration officials will let me back in the country of not. Of course, it will only be to show my friend America, not to stay. :) In other news, company sales are climbing nicely and it seems we have made a decent name for ourselves in the mac community so far. My bedroom still has a certain lack of bed or other furniture. In fact, there are more computers in my room than pieces of furniture, and I have the largest bedroom in the house. Says a lot about my priorities right now. Time to get back to code! My latest app is giving me the shiznit's while designing it. I think I need a whiteboard. | | Wednesday, April 7th, 2004 | | 9:46 pm |

Oh well
Looks like I won't be visiting the United States anytime soon: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/3595221.stmMaybe when I'm not treated as a potential criminal or terrorist might I visit again. Of course, this was the straw that broke the camels back....but I had been contemplating not going ever again thanks to other measures. | | Friday, April 2nd, 2004 | | 7:12 am |
14 years
That's 14 years in one house. Most of my teenage years were spent here.... all the trials and tribulations... its kinda sad to be going. See you all in the new house though! | | Saturday, March 20th, 2004 | | 11:56 am |

It now takes me so long to compile iPodRip (can't use zerolink or any of the funky Xcode stuff because there are applescripts in the bundle) that I have to have another app open to work on, otherwise I spend at least an hour a day twiddling my thumbs. Yay. | | Thursday, March 11th, 2004 | | 12:08 am |
Beautiful and scary space
Check out these segments of an image just released by Hubble. In particular, the top left frame. Note the three galaxies slightly off center, they are involved in a titanic struggle that is taking place before the earth was created. I wonder what their world looks like right now and if some form of life was eradicated in the destruction of the galaxies. Funny thing is, if you look at the patch of sky that Hubble took this image from, its empty to the naked eye. Hubble was collecting light at the rate of one photon per minute, yes one photon per minute from this section of the sky for 1 million seconds. Insane... | | Wednesday, March 10th, 2004 | | 2:13 pm |

Wicked (Updated)
So, yeah, yesteday. Here is a complete rundown. We got there around 11 (I think). The first thing was Friendly, a band from Newcastle. They mixed up some sweet tunes. A good start to the day. Got my ears working nicely as well. Next up was Black Eyed Peas. They played some old things which was good, but they didn't rock too heavily. We then moved onto Pnau who played a lot of good songs, but not my favorite, We Love the Fresh Kills. Grrrr. Next up was the Dandy Warhols who were good, just not rocking. :-/ Muse was next, and yes, they were wicked. They played all the favorites and the mosh really worked up some heat. Plug In baby was sweet, and so was Citizen Erased. After that, we had dinner and watched about of the Mars Volta and The Strokes while we waited in the Metallica mosh. After all that time, it was worth the wait. Metallica started off with Battery and man, it was wicked. They moved through some old songs, Kill 'em All, Ride the Lightening and Fade to Black, as well as a hammering Master of Puppetz. Of course, they had their fun as well, having some serious pyrotechnics for One and walking off stage one too many times. Ain't Nothing Else Matters really was powerful and full of emotion. the most expressively I have ever heard them play it. To finish up they played Enter Sandman as expected, and yes, we had our fill. After that, was some Basement Jaxx. Of course by then I was getting a little sore. I watched a bit of 'em inside the dome and outside. After that it was home, well, on the way I had chinese. Got back at 2am on Sunday, so yes, it was a long day. Right now my calves are killing me and my neck is a little stiff, but otherwise I'm fine after a full 6hrs in the mosh. As you can tell, Metallica rocked, and well, so did everything else. | | 2:30 am |
Wicked
Man, big day out rocked. From Friendly's awesome mixes to Metallica's rocking performance...well, im speechless. Muse was quite good although the mosh got heavy. Metallica's mosh was more sedate but it was huge. I managed to get into the third row what was definitely cool. From there you could see everything, although I came very close to being deaf from the pyrotechnics and I am rather speechless now from all my singing. I guess I will have to do an update when I awake, its rather early. ;) | | Tuesday, January 20th, 2004 | | 1:19 am |

Hmmm, if IBM were a city in Australia, here would be the list of largest cities: - Sydney - Melbourne - Brisbane - Perth - Adelaide - Gold Coast - IBM - Canberra - Newcastle Amusingly enough, its bigger than our capital city, Canberra. At 330,000 employees and earnings of 100+ billion dollars, its also 1/4 the size of the Australia government's budget. Yikes! |
